Kenneth Raymond Turner was born on April 21, 1921, in Garwin, Iowa, the son of Ray and Flossie (Black) Turner. Kenneth grew up and attended school in the Marshalltown area. He served his country in the United States Army from October 17, 1942 to February 26, 1946. In 1941, Kenneth married Joyce Leask, they later divorced. In 1970, he married Mary Milota, they also later divorced. Kenneth worked as a glazier, installing commercial glass and aluminum, for 35 years. He then retired and became a self-employed siding installer. Kenneth was a member of the Evansdale Amvets and loved to fish and spend time with his family. Kenneth died at the age of 91 on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waterloo. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lyle; and two sisters, Katherine and Norma. Kenneth is survived by two sons, Pat (Judy) Turner of Elk Run Heights and Ken Turner of Arizona; a daughter, Phyllis (Ron) Nordman of Waterloo; a brother, Darrell (Glenda) Turner of Prairie City; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
