Chad Meredith Henry Cooper was born August 8, 1945 in Waterloo, Iowa, son of Albert Henry and Alta Josephine Merriam Cooper. He received his education in Traer and graduated from high school in the class of 1963. He continued his education at Iowa State University where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and the ROTC. He later received his degree from the University of Northern Iowa. Chad then served his country during the Vietnam War. He was married to Kathy Williams and they later divorced.  Chad worked various jobs though out his life which included farming and tiling, working at the family feed lot, truck driver, Manager of the Golden Door Motel in Traer bartending and dealing cards at the casino. His death came at his home on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the age of 67 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by a son Eugene Henry (Naomi) Cooper and their children Cora and Emmet of Vallejo, CA, a daughter Juanita (Doug) Carlson and their children Lucas and Wyatt of Cedar Rapids, IA, a sister Adrienne (Larry) Nelson of Dysart, IA, two brothers, Jan (Connie) Cooper of Traer and Joel (Jewel) Cooper of Cedar Falls, IA an several nieces and nephews.
