Lois Arlene (Creswell) Vorba was born June 20, 1926 near Reinbeck; Iowa; she was the daughter of William M. and Ada M. (Miller) Creswell. She was raised near Reinbeck, and attended Dinsdale Consolidated Schools, and later graduated from Reinbeck Consolidated Schools in 1944. She continued her education at Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri graduating in 1948 with a degree in Elementary Education. On November 21, 1959 she was united in marriage to Leonard Vorba in Waterloo, Iowa. Lois taught in Boxholm, Iowa, Osage, Iowa, Cedar Rapids, Iowa and finally, in the North Tama (Traer) Schools for eighteen years before retiring in 1985. Lois was a member of the Traer United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School; she belonged to Dorcas Circle an served as an officer for the United Methodist Women. Lois was a member of the Mission and Social Concerns Committee and served as a delegate to the United Methodist Annual Conference for several years. She was also active in Monday Fine Arts Club, Nature Study, Iowana Club, Farm Bureau Homemakers, and Bona Dea Chapter Order of Eastern Star. Her death came at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the age of 86 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant twin sister Ruth Eileen. She is survived by her husband Leonard of Traer, one daughter, Ruth, and her husband David Johnson of Belmond, Iowa and one granddaughter, Erin Johnson.
